Weekly Photo Challenge: Optimistic

Port of Tanjung Bira

This week’s challenge is so interesting for me. Optimistic! It makes me want to write about the sights that I got when I was going to sail from the Port of Tanjung Bira to Selayar Islands, at the end of 2014 ago.

Not far from the pier, I saw some moored boats on the calm sea surface. It was sunny with the blue sky and white of clouds. Yes it was a good day to spend time at the beach, I knew. And I was glad that I was on my way to the place that I’ve been dreaming for so long.

Actually, I was very desperate at that time. So I wanted to be alone in a remote place, and I decided to travel in Selayar Islands for a week. There are many beautiful beaches in Selayar Island, and I thought it could be good for me as a beach lover.

Well, when I saw that beautiful view while on my way to Selayar, I felt like I wanted a vacation in every single day that I have. Why? Because I was feeling saturated. I was tired about work and its atmosphere that isn’t conducive. And also much more problems in life. But then, there was something that changed my mind when I was lingering look out to the view on the photo above.

As usual, I couldn’t help my self when I found that beautiful scenery. I immediately turned on the camera and take a picture with a wide angle. Then I started to play the zoom to find something more detail around the boats. And here are what I have found.

Some people were moving carton boxes of mineral water and some groceries to the boat. It must be a hard work, I thought.

Regardless of whether they are doing it with happy feeling or being forced, but my eyes began to open. At least my job isn’t as difficult as them. And I still have time to have some vacation. Alhamdulillah. Thank you, Allah.

I think that was one of the good side of traveling. Sometimes we could find the answer for something that bothered us before. Glad that you’ve found it.
